The Future Proof Business Quiz


On Friday 23rd September 2022 all eyes and ears were on our new Chancellor as he announced an extraordinary budget in an attempt to kick start our economy. Normally we would be happy to see even small cuts in our tax bills but what he announced was quite frankly bizarre and for small businesses who may currently be struggling is really not going to be that helpful and of course the cost will be massive for future taxpayers. Our children and probably even our grandchildren will be paying for this support and that already given over the last two years.


The failure rate for small businesses in the UK has been appalling for decades and despite a relatively benign economy before the pandemic, only 40% of businesses would last more than 5 years. Companies House issued some statistics for the period ending June 2022 and these showed that only 27% of companies are over 10 years old and only 10% are over 20 years old. This is shocking when actually there are some practical and simple steps to help a business survive into the longer term. It may not be possible for every business to future-proof itself but we feel passionate that we should at least try and support as many as possible.


For the past few months, we have been working on a special health check. It is in the form of a quiz and as it is multiple choice it is easy and quick to complete. We have called it “The Future Proof Business Quiz” and those who take it will receive a personal PDF report with detailed feedback on what they can do to improve their longevity and resilience.


The quiz has been written so it is compatible with mobile phones as well as tablets, laptops or desktops.
